If I ever need to calibrate the controller in Windows again, I'll just have to shut off Steam to do it. But I'm not about to mess up my lucky break by doing anything more. Unfortunately, I accidentally set the control stick to "None" and there is no option to change it back to the correct Joystick again. It all happened so fast, I'm not sure if I'm remembering it correctly) I quickly selected it and voila! It's just a controller now. Then, all of a sudden, I noticed the default game config wasn't grayed out. The last thing I remember was, I was trying to import the game specific configuration from Dark Souls to overwrite the Desktop one, with no particular success. This seems to be caused by Steam overriding the controller configuration and assigning the DS4s right analog stick to mouse movement, with the deadzone set to zero or lower. EXPECTED The mouse cursor shouldnt be moving unless the mouse is moving. It's grayed out to specifically keep you from doing this. The mouse cursor is constantly in motion while the configuration tool is open. I tried to replace the whole thing at once by importing the standard controller configuration, but it doesn't let you.
So you can't fix it manually by changing it button by button. The Desktop configuration does not allow you to make the buttons do anything but Keyboard and Mouse commands. Once done, close out settings by clicking OK, then ALT+Tab back to your game and re-try again. Try launching the game, then while game is running, ALT+Tab into Steam Client and go to Settings > Controller > and disable all the Controller options from there. I had this issue randomly occur out of the blue one day after not using Steam or GTAV for example for a few months and then Steam Client did an update. You can get a non-PRO Switch controller for about $30-USD

Those Switch Pro are extremely over-priced and we can't say how well this will work on PC at this present time. Wired on these two types only requires a MicroUSB-to-USB (data-sync) cable to be attached and you're good to go as far as good wired solution that isn't sorely out-dated or generic brand. It's just new-to-market is all.īut given the pricing I'd return it ASAP and buy an actual branded Microsoft XboxOne Wireless or Sony DS4 Controller they both can work wireless or wired.
